From ancient days, there is a belief prevailing in South India, by a pilgrimage toThirupugalur(Arulmighu Agneeswarar smetha KarundharKulali Amman ThiruKoil) temple in Nagapattinam (Nagai) district of Tamil Nadu, all the Vasthu errors can be rectified and can bring peace to one’s home/office. The main deity of the temple is Shiva in Linga form named Konabiran, goddess KathuntharKulali amman. This temple is located on the southern bank of river Cavery. Of the very ancient temples Thirupulagur temple is listed as 76th temple. Saiva saints Thiru Gnanasambandar, Sambandar and Appar has praised and sang many songs on the Shiva -Konabiran.
The temple is located on Nagappatinam to Nannilam bus route, towards 25 kms west to Nagappatinam, 10 Kms from Nannilam, 25 kms from Thiruvarur. Frequent bus facility is available from Kumbakonam, Nagappatinam and Thiruvarur.
