The Sani or Saturn of Navagraha is called Anugraha Sani, usually Sani bagawan is considered gracing evil to all and make them realize the presence of almighty. King Nala on the way to Thirunallaru (abode of Sani Bagawan) worshiped the Sanieeshwaran in this temple and got the blessing that all the evil surrounding the him will be gone and he will be gaining back all his wealth and kingdom when he workship him again at Thirunallaru temple.
